PlaNet Finance China will be holding a fundraiser on Thursday, July 9th, 2009 to support the earthquake victims in Cheng County, Gansu. All proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards setting up a microfinance facility in Cheng County.

About Cheng County:
Cheng County is in a rural area of Gansu province and suffers from severe poverty. Many of Cheng County residents earn only 645-825 RMB per year. Poverty conditions were only exacerbated when the area was heavily struck by the May 12 earthquake of last year, destroying 11,000 homes and damaging 46,800 others. Over a year later, many people living in this area are still struggling to rebuild their lives.
About the Fundraiser:
To support the fundraiser, we are holding a silent auction. Current auction items include goods and services from Beijing's top venues with total RMB value estimated around 10,000 RMB!

Tickets are on sale at E.A.T Cafe, Yuanfen, and the Bridge Cafe on Sunday July 5th from 12 noon to 10 PM. Tickets will also be sold at the door.
