How to Make Mobile Banking Work for Financial Inclusion

On July 8, 2010, Arnaud Ventura, Co-Founder of PlaNet Finance and Group CEO of MicroCred and Christian Sinobas, Head of Downscaling Department PlaNet Finance Advisory Services presented at “The First Annual Conference on Mobile Banking in China” in Beijing, China. The conference was co-hosted by the People’s Bank of China Research Bureau (PBoC) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and supported by PlaNet Finance.

Mr. Ventura’s presentation titled, “Mobile Banking, Accelerating Financial Inclusion?” provided an overview of mobile banking, perspectives from both the client and mobile operator perspective and its role in financial inclusion.

Mr. Sinobas’ presentation titled, “Challenges and Opportunities of Mobile Money” provided a description of mobile money, potential products and the key challenges to adopting mobile banking technology.
